BIOGRAPHY
Morgan Ogilvie earned her MFA from CalArts (California Institute of the Arts) and is currently on the Alumnx council (though she resides in Franklin, Tennessee). Artforum.com showed her painting “The Annunciation” in their MFA Spotlight and five of Ogilvie’s paintings were published in the Vassar Review issue “Protest, Prophecy, Play.” She has shown her work at Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment in LA. She participated in and helped organize the group show, Time is Out of Joint, published in Hyperallergic, held at the MAK Center in LA, and curated by artist and composer Scott Benzel. She has been honored to be in a group exhibition, Living the Archive, with the distinguished artist, writer, and member of the Pictures Generation, Thomas Lawson, who was also her mentor. She has also received local attention in the Tennessean, Nashville Arts Magazine, the Nashville Scene and Locate Arts. She was invited to be in the group show, Keep it Warm, at Zeitgeist Gallery in Nashville, TN. The senior curator of the Frist Art Museum, Katie Delmez, selected Ogilvie’s work for Number: INC’s Art of the South exhibition also at Zeitgeist.
